Record shopping in Brooklyn

Brooklyn out-digs Manhattan these days. Greenpoint and Bushwick shops skew collector-serious (original pressings, deep electronic sections), while Park Slope and Bed-Stuy keep friendlier, browse-all-afternoon rooms. Most shops are subway-adjacent — this is the rare American city where a four-store crawl needs no car.

What diggers say

I had the pleasure of working with James from Human Head Records while cleaning out my mother’s home in preparation for its sale. It’s been a challenging time for our family following the unexpected and tragic passing of my father, and sorting through decades of belongings has been emotionally overwhelming.

This is a hidden gem, really captures the spirit of Greenpoint. It is very trendy, cute and community based— I would highly recommend. I like going here to work from home— big tables, easy to focus, sunny, bright, clean, homey. They play great music and the coffee is great.

New location on Banker street inches them closer to Williamsburg. Feels very similar to the old spot in Greenpoint proper. Still a preeminent vinyl destination without being too expansive or overwhelming. Especially strong jazz offering with many rare finds across multiple genres.
