Reckless Records

Small little shop hidden away in the middle of the big city. There is a nice variety of records to choose from, but not so many CDs, but the handful of cassette tapes really take you back to your youth. If your In the area stop by and say hi, workers are super helpful and respect your space as a shopper.

I spoke to Lydia at the Loop store who was amazing. I found a Black Midi flexi disc (Eat Men Eat) that was listed on the Reckless site. I called and she helped me find it in the store and mailed it to me. It helped me complete a collection of flexis that has taken a few years to pull together.

It may not be the biggest record store in Chicago but the location, the ambience and the staff are excellent. Everytime I step in, I dive through their catalog and I ussually find some good music to listen to. It is common to have good conversations here with music enthusiasts from all over the world.

Small record store offering a solid collection (they had exactly what I was looking for), helpful and kind staff (they had my record ready for pickup and were holding it behind the counter for me as we were in a rush to get out of the city), and a cute space in the heart of downtown Chicago.
