Record shopping in Portland

Portland has more record stores per capita than almost any big city in America, and the used prices are noticeably kinder than either coast. Music Millennium has anchored the city since 1969; around it, Hawthorne and Division are lined with shops where trade-in culture is strong — sell a stack, leave with a different one.

What diggers say

Stopped by during a recent vacation. Walked in and noticed a nice selection of vinyl, looked around the corner, more vinyl. Then, I looked through the doorway and there was more vinyl. I mostly listen to metal, so I was pleased to find a solid heavy selection, plus the wife found some great picks as well!

EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY STAFF!!! KNOW THEIR STUFF. When i couldn't find what i was looking for one jumped right around the counter and IMMEDIATELY found it! My kid will be stoked!

I'm impressed by their metal selection and have been able to find records that I couldn't find elsewhere in town at this store. Also, for the most part, their prices are either average or lower compared to other places. Organization of the store is a little bit scattered, but it's still easy enough to find everything.
