I stopped by here for a last minute Christmas gift on Dec 23-- I live 30 mins away but happened to be nearby at the Vet with my Dog. I took the chance to go up to the door before opening time, and the owner graciously opened early and was so helpful in picking out the perfect album for my gift recipient.
My daughter and I love this place! Great atmosphere and staff. No matter what we pick out, they end up chatting with us about it. Every other record store we've been to since our first visit gets compared to Vinyl Alchemy...and none have lived up to that standard yet.
This is a small and friendly store in a bohemian neighborhood in Grand Rapids. The prices are decent and it has some fun vintage stereo equipment. It is only about two years old, so help it stay in business and thrive. They have some CDs as well.
My favorite record store in both GR and Muskegon! Owner and staff are very cool and friendly. Records are cleaned and listened to with honest descriptions like, “Occasional Light Noise, Nice Player Copy!” Prices are great too.
