What a freaking cool place. Tons of metal albums, books, cds, clothing, vhs... insane! Some really hard to find stuff and some great old black metal and speed metal. The owner was cool too, and very helpful. If you ever visited any record shops in the 80s this place will take you back.
The owner was very nice and engaged in conversation with us as soon as we came in. My boyfriend loves anything metal and we were in town visiting family and wanted to find a store like this. The 5 star rating is legit, seen a lot of great and rare vinyl.
Killer spot! The Gate is something that was sorely missing in Wichita. I visit every weekend to checkout the new, cool, rare and unusual. If you're passing through, or if you're a resident of Wichita (especially if you're a local), stop in and smell the Metal! Let's keep this place around for years to come.
Was on a trip from Des Moines to Garden City and I made a slight detour to Wichita to specifically stop at this cd shop specializing in Metal. I was not disappointed. This place was well worth the detour. Whenever I am in the area I will make sure to always stop there.
