Where to find Surface Noise
What's in the crates
“The last time I dropped in, they had a whole box of old, rare punk 7"s about to hit the floor.”
What collectors say again and again
“The listening station in the back is a nice touch.”
“Great music being played while in store, and we were offered the opportunity to play records on the turntable, that we might be interested in.”
“Owner very friendly, vinyl is nicely curated - not a huge amount but no crud to wade through, fair prices, cool used books and little art gallery in the back.”
What customers say
Great little record store with usually a little something else going on in the way of art or live music. An eclectic selection of records and books as well. Lots of eye candy too. Full disclosure, the owner is an old friend. He's also a fellow musician and a published author.
Excellent energy in side. Required masks and gave gloves out for those flipping through records. Great music being played while in store, and we were offered the opportunity to play records on the turntable, that we might be interested in. Great selection of books, including some local Louisville archival books.
Surface Noise was highly recommended by Russell at Matt Anthony’s Record Shop and I fell in love with the warm, cozy atmosphere, reminding me of my own living room. Stopping in feels you’re browsing your friends carefully curated collection of books and records. Craving a spin on the turntable?
Came into Louisville from out of town and my buddy took me to 5 different record stores in Louisville. This was my favorite. Maybe I just had good luck with my finds lol. But on top of it the gentleman working was super cool. I wondered if an older record I found that looked a little scratched up played okay.
