A short story: My spouse and I have a shared list of albums we’re looking for to keep us ~on task~ whenever we visit record stores. We’ve had the list for a few years now and our most elusive item, the Blue Jean Committee’s Catalina Breeze (iykyk), has been on it since it was created.
You need to visit SOMA Sounds. It is an awesome store. Stocked with vinyl: well organized, fairly priced, diverse selection of music. Fits the SOMA vibe: friendly and unpretentious but very different and edited compared to other parts of NJ. A jewel box of a store, great owners with a community vibe.
Visited this store for the first time with my daughter and I'm glad I did! We picked up some great finds, including an LP of a Rush radio broadcast that I had no idea existed. Some of the new releases were a little pricey, but that's everywhere these days, so I don't blame them for that.
Fantastic record shop with a great eclectic selection!!! Friendly staff, fair prices, and great atmosphere. There hasn’t been a time when I left the shop without some gems!! It’s literally my go to spot for music!! Highly recommend!!!
