I was in SF visiting friends recently and one of them recommended Originals. I have been collecting vinyl for over 25 years (I'm 43) and this place was one of the best record stores that I have been to in the Bay area.
I stop in several times a week and I've bought a lot of records here in the year or so since this shop moved in. It's clean, well organized, and they have a great selection (at least for my tastes). The sweet spot here seems to be 60's-70's jazz, funk, and soul, plus classic and underground hip hop and rock.
Originals Vinyl store is a very friendly and welcoming place. Many times, I passed in front of the store, and one day I stopped to ask if they would be interested in buying some records. I happened to talk with Dominic one of the store owners, and he encouraged me to bring in some albums to get priced.
One of the best record stores in San Francisco! Parking is a chore around here since the store is located near Hayes Valley, but it's worth driving around until you find a spot because you will be treated to some top vinyl finds. Originals Vinyl has some of the best jazz records available.
