Hunky Dory

Super cool store! The selection was pretty broad and the downstairs basement was all $1/$2 finds. They also gave merchandise and tobacco products as well as incense. **6 months later and Hunky Dory had quickly become one of our most favorite places.

Unironically the best bar in Durham. I write this to remind myself because I STILL think of it as the head shop from a decade ago (which was also great) instead of a cool bar (even better). Best place to sit on the couch with the dog after a long day to feel like a human again.

Hunky Dory does a lot of things well all at once—a record store, a great selection of beer, a head shop, and even really cool hats/tees. The bar to sit at isn’t huge, but it’s a nice vibe and the employees are always friendly. There’s a few outdoor tables to facilitate chilling when the weather is nice.

Great shop, great vibes, and a really solid selection of vinyl and other accessories. Super friendly staff, who seem to be pretty passionate about their job, which seems rare these days. If you don't have a turntable, you should buy one, just so you can enjoy their selection.
