Casa Amadeo, Antigua Casa Hernandez

Casa Amadeo was a major contributor to my collection of over 600 records. I will get off the Prospect Street train station and walk down the block every Friday after work, and Miguel "Mike " would have the latest Salsa album ready for me.

My husband and I spent the afternoon at Casa Amadeo. Mike Amadeo warmly welcomed us and shared his story of love for music, Puerto Rico, people and the work that he has dedicated a lifetime to refine. His record store has everything from oldies to contemporary music in multiple formats.

It hurts me to know historic places like this not get the recognition it deserves. I am oh so proud to be Puerto Rican and to acknowledge a true icon Mike Amadeo. Mike you don't know me but you will this week when I stop by and load up on my salsa collection. Que Viva Puerto Rico.

It was an amazing experience!! Mike the owner of the shop, who is also the writer of a lot of songs is an amazing person was so nice. I loved meeting him and getting his autograph. 😀 Meeting him actually made me want to tear up and helped me learn more about my heritage. I want to thank Mike Amadeo for that ❤😊
